Evolve Partners and Oilsands Review Co-Host Successful Executive Roundtable

Cal Watson chairs discussion on “Changing the Way We Work”.

Calgary, AB, June 21, 2016 – Evolve Partners, a global implementation-focused consulting firm that helps Energy and Process industry clients implement strategic business improvement programs, is pleased to share the success of their recent Executive Roundtable, held at The Catch Restaurant in Calgary.

The event hosted industry executives representing a cross-section of oilsands companies as well as midstream, utilities and service providers, to discuss how being competitive means that oilsands and other Alberta executives need to move from “as good as” to “better than” to compete globally. Deborah Jaremko, Editor of Oilsands Review, co-hosted the event and introduced the topic covered in an article written by Cal Watson, that the OIlsands Review published in their June 2016 issue.

“We designed this Executive Roundtable to be an opportunity to connect with peers and industry leaders who recognize that in order to survive and thrive in the ‘lower for longer’ oil price environment, we need to change the way we work today,” says Seth Tyler, COO Evolve Partners. “The conversation on how to change the way oil companies work was very spirited and content rich, as was their commitment to the future of this industry.”

Cal Watson, retired Devon Energy executive and Evolve Advisory Board Member, moderated the conversation with the group, delving into thought-provoking discussions that addressed today’s most pressing issues for the Canadian Oilsands producers and service providers.

“Canadian producers and service providers are facing structural cost challenges which have been the focus of 2015. However, this focus must turn to evolving their business and operational model to maximize efficiency and eliminate waste in 2016,” says Cal Watson. “Becoming more efficient is obviously an imperative for Canadian producers and service providers in the current price environment. “It is also a longer-term strategic imperative if we are to shift from competing for capital locally, to competing globally.”

We will host additional Executive Roundtables later in the year to check in on progress made on the journey of “Changing the Way We Work.”
